Pinch, poke...but not coke?!

Here we are again and it's the day before Valentine's day! I found these cute mailboxes at target and the kids decorated them so that "Cupid" can bring Valentine cards :) There's just something about this holiday that just makes me happy to have a great Hunny & great kiddos.

We're doing ok down here, just enjoying the rain for the past week. It's so much better than 90 degree weather in January!

Tuesday Leroy had steroid injections in his back again. The last time they did that was back in February of 2007 and it didn't work. Yet again, we thing it's a failure. The injections haven't helped and made him worse for the first couple of days. Although he has an awesome doctor here, it's frustrating when he hears the pain management doctor doing the injections at the hospital say, "this will go away with exercise, you'll always have pain". So frustrating! How can he exercise when he's in constant pain? Why does he have to always be in pain? I betcha these doctors wouldn't be in pain, but then again they wouldn't have to deal with the runaround for 2 years now! We just want him better and out of pain. :( It's just not fair sometimes. But what goes around comes around, maybe being patient will pay off.

The kids are doing great! Danae has hit her baby phase and carries her baby around in the carrier and in her little stroller everywhere. She loves pretending to be "mommy". We're working on letter recognition and numbers, she not that into it but loves to draw so I'm not gonna worry :)

Derrick is also doing great, still lovin' his cars. There's a motocross park in the next town over and when we go out on weekends we sometimes see them jumping. According to Derrick he's gonna do that someday...or so he thinks! Derrick is working on spelling small 3 and 4 letter words. He's such a smart kid when he applies himself. He's memorized some nursery rhymes: humpty dumpty, hickory dickory dock, hey diddle diddle and little miss muffett. Each time he only heard the rhyme a couple times and he had it memorized! He amazes me with his memory and hope he does just as good when he hits kindergarten.

Here's some pics to enjoy & Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Birthday Derrick!!!

How does 5 years go by so quickly?! This day, 5 years ago at exactly 5:24 pm (half time of the superbowl....we missed the whole Janet Jackson fiasco) Derrick Thomas Clark was born! I never realized how fast time flies once you have kids. He's grown sooooo much over time. From diapers and formula to monster trucks and transformers. Since he wasn't able to go to preschool this year, he's so excited he's finally old enough to go to kindergarten in the fall. Leroy asked him today who was gonna cry more when he goes to school, Mom or Derrick? And of course Derrick said me!! He is so right, I 'm such a baby!

All day he kept asking for his presents and all day we told him after the game, after the game. I've come to realize children have no concept of time =) I made my world famous decorated cake for Derrick today. I refuse to buy a cake for my kids birthday, it just seems so unpersonal for me. I love baking the cake and decorating it, I've been doing it since I made Leeanne's 16th Yellow Submarine cake...I think she really liked it!

We were planning on having a big 5th Birthday/Super Bowl party this year, but with the move it didn't happen. It did make me feel better when Derrick said he had a great birthday =) He did get his present he'd been wanting for the last 3 months, The Big Fighting Robots!!!! Now normally we wouldn't even have bought them for Derrick...they're $50....but WalMart was clearanceing them out at $5, so we made out like bandits! My thoughts are so all over the place, so here's some pictures to enjoy!

Pulling off the final countdown paper! The three of us during halftime! (Memories)

Woke up to balloons covering the floor We discovered static electricity

Got a card...who's it from? It's a Mickey card from Grandma Allen!
